Insomniac photographer captures haunting images of New York's Central Park by night

New York-based Fine art photographer Michael Massaia suffers from severe insomnia.

Massaia captures pics at odd hours of the day as a coping mechanism to deal with his insomnia.

" I would commonly take long walks at night, and the park always seemed to be calling me in.  I set out to document the park at its most vacant, isolating, and at times, haunting moments,"  he writes on his website.

Surprisingly, Michael has encountered only minor incidents despite working outside at odd hours of the day.
